Bodem is made for Het Circulaire Warenhuis. It is the sister project to Straal, a place for the broken and unusable waste ceramic pieces to find a new life. Thousands of kilos of ceramic waste each year end up at even the one local recycling point in Leiden, the Netherlands. I was interested by the fact that much of this ceramic is still a hard, quality substance. We found a new life for it by crushing everything, sorting it by size, and reforming into a terrazzo like material that is 85% made of ceramic waste.

Available on the webshop of Circulaire Warenhuis.
