tage 2 is an evolution of the Acciaio chair. Acciaio, Italian for steel, derives its name from the most important element of the works : the lightweight steel tubing borrowed from bicycle framebuilding. The inspiration for the furniture is the elegant geometry of a classic racing bicycle, Max Lipsey has expanded to Acciaio chair series to include a range of larger furniture pieces. The bicycle geometry is opened up to a wide range of functional forms, playing a role in the determination of interior space.
